The Perfect Destin Golf Trip!

In a previous blog we talked about a few things to consider in planning a great golf trip. You’ve done all the preliminary work and decided to go to Destin, Florida. Wahoo! Here’s an ideal 4 night, 4 round Destin golf itinerary:

Day 1 - Wednesday: arrive afternoon/evening and check in to your condo or home. If it’s just 3 or 4 of you, Emerald Waters Beachside 202 would be a great condo right across the street from the beach and close to the golf courses. Start the trip off right with an awesome dinner at Louisiana Lagniappe in Destin.

Day 2 - Thursday: Play Emerald Bay in Destin. This great and challenging track will get you introduced properly to Destin golf. It plays as long as you want, plenty of water, white sand bunkers, pine trees, and bermuda greens. After the round relax at your pool or on the beach. For dinner, head to Dewey Destin’s for some great seafood at a Destin landmark.

Day 3 - Friday: Head over to Panama City Beach and play 36 holes at Bay Point. Hurricane Michael did quite a bit of damage to Bay Point and the entire area in 2018. However, the area is doing a great job to recover. The golf courses at Bay Point are better than ever and ready for play again. The Nicklaus and Meadows courses are definitely worth the hour drive from Destin.

Day 4 - Saturday: Play the new and improved Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club, with 14 renovated greens, added tee boxes, and two redesigned holes. When complete in September, 2019, one of the best courses in Florida will be even better! Maybe a little parasailing over the emerald waters of the Gulf of Mexico before heading to dinner at the Surf Hut, right on the beach.

Departure Day - Sunday: Finish off the trip at Kelly Plantation, also one of the finest tracks in Florida. Everything about this facility is first class. Have your camera ready when you get to the signature hole #4, which plays alongside Choctawhatchee Bay and the Mid-Bay Bridge.
