Buffalo Ridge Springs

Tom Fazio designed Branson Creek Golf Course, which opened in 2000. It quickly established itself on everyone’s Top 100 list and became known as one of the premier courses in the midwest. Then in 2013, Johnny Morris purchased the golf course and made it even better. He renamed it Buffalo Ridge Springs and it is part of the Big Cedar Golf family, which includes Ozarks National, Top of the Rock, Mountain Top, and the soon to open Payne’s Valley.

Better? How? This course was already in fantastic shape, in terms of the zoysia fairways, great bunkering, and bent grass greens. First order of business was to build a clubhouse. Believe it or not, Branson Creek never even had a clubhouse. It had a trailer. A pretty nice trailer, but still, a trailer. So, Mr. Morris built a clubhouse worthy of the fantastic golf course it serves. It’s rustic, yet elegant. It even smells like a campfire. Mr. Morris is all about the details. Beyond the clubhouse, the natural terrain was highlighted even more by exposing a lot of natural rock formations that were previously hidden. You can see this particularly on holes #2 and #9. Johnny’s Hot Dog Stand was added behind #5 green. Super cool bridges were added on #2, #5, #13, #14, and #16. Even the on-course bathrooms are worthy of a non-necessary stop. And, well, if you name a golf course Buffalo Ridge Springs, you’d better have some buffalo on the property. Check. During the summer months, you’ll see live buffalo roaming the front nine (behind safe barriers, of course).

This already fantastic Branson golf course with spectacular views is now even better, and hosts a PGA Champions Tour event. Buffalo Ridge Springs is a definite “must-play” when planning a Branson golf trip. Request a quote here.
