It's Raining. Let's Play Golf!
Golfers are some of the best weather watchers. We all have multiple weather apps on our phones, continually monitoring radar and hourly forecasts prior to our next round of golf. This is especially true days before we leave for a golf trip, as we hope to hit the best weather week of the year wherever we are headed. In reality, the weather is unpredictable in most parts of the US, so you are wise to prepare for a little rain as you head off on the much anticipated golf trip.
Expect the most rain in April and May (about 5 inches monthly) for your Branson golf vacation. If you’re planning a Destin golf vacation, July and August are the wettest months (about 7 inches monthly). But don’t let a little rain ruin your quest for golf. The key to being able to play well in the rain is to keep your golf club grips and your hands dry. If you can manage that, you will be able to swing the club properly and with confidence. Here are a few ways you can prepare for the inevitable rain shower while in Branson or Destin:
Bring an umbrella and a DrizzleStik (for your clubs).
Bring rain gloves. They work!
Bring a rain jacket and pants, particularly during the cooler spring and fall months.
Bring plenty of towels. Use them to keep your grips covered while out of the golf bag and keeping the seat of the golf cart dry.
Invest in some waterproof shoes.
A little preparation can assure you have a great time on your golf trip, even when the rains come. When you are ready to plan your next Branson golf vacation or Destin golf vacation, request a quote here!
